Vintage, Done Properly…

This is going to be a brief post as I really want you to head to the next festival and experience it all for yourself, once Covid is all out of the way of course.

So, let’s begin. Vintage Nostalgia Festival has quickly become, without doubt, my favourite event of the year. This was my second visit after discovering it in 2018 and this year’s experience more than lived up to my first.

Nestled away in the tiny village of Stockton, Wiltshire; this yearly festival is sure to bring a smile to any vintage lover’s face. From classic cars to live music, the event really has it all. What makes it so special though, is its intimate, welcoming and family orientated atmosphere. There is quite literally something for everyone and more than enough to keep the entire family occupied, little ones and big ones alike.

The festival runs over 3 days, Friday - Sunday. There’s a large amount of space available for camping and if you really want to enjoy the weekend and fully into the spirit of things then this is what I suggest you do.

The Vintage Nostalgia Festival 2019 Programme

Lovely seeing so many of my shots on the front cover.

One of the many attractions to the festival are the vintage outfits on display. Take this gentleman. Impeccably dressed with a drink for himself and his lady. There were so many others making an equal amount of effort too. I just need to make sure that I do the same next year…

Even if you haven’t remembered all of your vintage attire, all is not lost. There are a ton of clothing stalls with everything from hats to shoes. As well as plenty of antiques and nick-nacks to complete the look.

Definitely couldn’t continue without mentioning the food and drink. There was just so much to choose from. Personally, I kicked lunch off with a chicken and halloumi wrap from Frisky Avocado. With a healthy amount of chilli sauce I was in heaven. For dinner I tucked into something totally different - a hoisin duck pizza. Sounds slightly odd but it was truly delicious.

To water it all down I opted for a cocktail from The Buffalo Bar - Elderflower Collins if you must know.

A True Gent

This is how I want to dress, all the time.

The main field area finds itself packed with some incredible classic cars. There are always plenty of Great British classics, alongside quite a few American beauties.

It wasn’t just cars either. There were extraordinary vintage motorcycles on display as well. My favourite being a beautifully maintained Motobecane.

This year also saw a considerably higher number of VW campers than I previously remember. For me, they are certainly one of the best looking vintage vehicles. The camper shown here can even be hired for weddings, a seriously stylish way to arrive or disappear into the sunset after your special day draws to a close.
