Llano 18W Dual Fast Charger + NP-FZ100 Batteries — The Best Fast Charging Setup for Sony Alpha

There are very few things more frustrating than flat batteries, and waiting hours on end for them to charge again always adds insult to injury. So having a reliable, USB-C fast charging solution is an absolute must. I’ve owned various chargers but when my Hähnel ProCube 2 Charger gave up the ghost, I thought I’d try something different.

That’s where the Llano 18W Dual Fast Charger* comes in. It’s available in two versions; bare charger (£59.99) or charger + two 3rd party NP-FZ100 batteries (£103.99).

Although this review covers the Sony Alpha option, you are able to purchase other variations depending on your camera brand of choice, including Nikon and Canon.

The Llano 18W Dual Fast Charger

Out of the box, the presentation is clean and minimal. Inside, you’ll find the camera-shaped case with its dual charging slots containing two NP-FZ100 batteries, a USB-C charging cable, a small attachable lanyard and a soft carrying pouch.

I wouldn’t say it’s the smallest of cases but it feels solid without being too bulky, and it sports a sleek matte black, soft-touch finish. It has a very clear digital display that shows charging progress in real time. It’s lightweight enough to drop into a camera bag without a second thought, yet sturdy enough to protect your batteries while travelling.

The Llano charger stores two batteries and charges them simultaneously, either from the wall or a power bank. Most camera battery chargers tend to be slow and use the Micro USB interface. The Llano uses USB-C and charges in less than half the time of the , making it a brilliant upgrade for anyone travelling or shooting on location.

If you opt for the charger and batteries, the NP-FZ100’s included are rated at 2400mAh—slightly higher than Sony’s standard 2280mAh. In testing, performance was nearly identical to my OEM batteries, with only minor differences in runtime. Recording times and photo counts were consistent across both brands.

Charging is fast thanks to built-in support for QC 3.0 and PD 3.0 protocols. From empty to 80% took about two hours, with a full charge completed in under three. The display on the front shows percentage-based feedback, which makes battery management far simpler— no more second-guessing which ones are charged and which are empty.

If I had one wish, it would be for the charger to sport a built-in power bank too. Thankfully Llano have already thought of that and offer an option with a 12400mAh. That version was unavailable in the UK when I ordered and I’d not long bought a new power bank so it wasn’t necessary for me. I also understand it’s a little larger too. My only other minor moan would be the rubberised finish does tend to pick up fingerprints.

Final Thoughts

At just over £100 (before any discounts), the Llano set offers solid value for money. The Two official Sony NP-FZ100 batteries alone would set you more than that, and this package includes both batteries and a dual charger. It’s a well-rounded, travel-friendly solution for creators who need reliable power wherever they shoot.

If you’re after a compact, efficient way to store and charge your Sony camera batteries—whether in the studio or on location—the Llano charger set is well worth a look. Highly recommended.

Bonus: There’s even a small compartment inside the case for an SD card—just a little detail, but a thoughtful one that keeps things tidy when space is tight.
